10 Months Old

Welcome to the double digits Bubs!

Loves: taking a bath, my touch lamp, playing in the cabinets, rough housing with Daddy, balloons, visiting his grandparents, climbing the couch and coffee table, and playing the Uncolor game on my iPhone.

Hates: the vacuum cleaner (deathly afraid), riding in his car seat, getting his fingernails and toenails clipped, laying still to get his diaper changed.

Eating: Grant eats 3 oz of milk with oatmeal and fruit for breakfast, 6 oz of milk and a meat for lunch, 4 oz of milk with cereal and vegetables for supper, and 6 oz of milk before bed. He loves bananas, peaches, and oranges.  He still gags a lot when I feed him certain table foods.  He will eat anything that is hard and crunchy but he gags when we give him soft foods.

Sleeping:  He takes 3 naps a day and they are usually between an hour to two hours.  His bedtime is 10:00 pm and he likes to wake up around 9:00 am.  He seems to enjoy his quiet time in his crib.

Clothes:  Grant is wearing 9 month and 12 month clothes.  He has moved up to a size 4 diaper.

Firsts: first football party at Tiffany and Brad's (9/1), two new top teeth appeared (9/4), walked behind a push toy, climbed the couch, and discovered the cabinets and opening and closing the doors.

This Months Happenings:  We started out the month with a trip to Tiffany and Brad's for a football party.  Grant got a chance to go swimming again and he loved it as usual.  The next weekend we took a trip to Selma for John's wedding.  Grant got to spend a lot of time with his grandparents and loved digging in all their cabinets.  Jeremy also came for a visit during the month and Grant enjoyed flying around with Jeremy.

This month I have seen Grant growing up quite a bit.  He has really gotten a sense of humor and loves to laugh with us when we are silly.  He started playing peek-a-boo and covering his face with his blanket.  Grant has also started getting his feelings hurt when I fuss at him.  He has started biting me quite a bit and I've had to tell him "no biting" and he pokes his bottom lip out and cries.

He's really been into everything this month.  Josh had to put locks on the cabinets and fix some of our doors that wouldn't stay closed.  Grant would just push those doors open and go on in there.  Now that we have all that fixed he isn't able to get in as much.

Fun Facts:

*Grant loves the voices that his Daddy makes with his toy monkey and mouse.

*He loves to play with my iPhone so I downloaded an app that he can use.  He just swipes the screen and a picture uncovers.  There is one picture that has two giraffes and I always say that "they are in love."  So whenever that picture comes up Grant always stops and looks up at me smiling and waits for me to say it.

*He now takes a bath in the tub without the duck.  He loves the extra room to move around and loves to splash water everywhere.

*Grant can walk around pushing his toy.  It won't be long until he is walking by himself.

*His favorite spot is in the bouncy seat by the window.  He HATED that bouncy seat as a little baby so I guess now I'm getting my monies worth out of it.

*Grant has an obsession with my touch lamp by my bed. I made the mistake of letting him see how it works and now as soon as he picks his head up in the morning he is standing up trying to get across me to the lamp.  He doesn't take "no" for an answer either.  It's funny because he thinks all lamps are touch lamps and tries to get the lamps at his grandmothers to turn on by touching it.

*Grant "helps" me do the laundry.  He loves watching me load and unload the washing machine and dryer.  Then he unfolds everything that I have folded up.  It keeps him occupied though. :)
